The Community You Will Join
Help shape the next chapter of Airbnb's growth across DACH & Central and Eastern Europe.
We're looking for a Business Operations and Growth Lead to join our Berlin team, working closely with the Country Manager and territory leadership team to drive business performance, shape market strategy and unlock new growth opportunities.
Operating at the intersection of strategy, analytics and execution, you'll turn complex marketplace challenges into actionable insights and measurable business outcomes.
You'll thrive in this role if you're commercially minded, analytically strong and entrepreneurial, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity and turn ambitious ideas into results.
The Difference You Will Make
As a strategic partner to the Country Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering growth across DACH & CEE, with exposure to EMEA and global initiatives.
- Drive market strategy: Identify growth opportunities across supply, demand, pricing and evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Lead advanced analytics: Build sophisticated models, forecasts and business cases from scratch, translating complex data into actionable commercial recommendations.
- Own business performance: Analyse marketplace trends, lead performance reviews and identify the drivers behind growth, risks and opportunities.
- Drive strategic priorities: Lead territory OKRs, business planning and execution against ambitious growth targets.
- Influence and deliver: Align cross-functional leaders, challenge thinking and drive results without formal authority.
- Scale what works: Lead market initiatives, pilot new ideas and adapt EMEA and global programs for local impact.
A Typical Day
Set priorities and strategy
- Develop integrated territory strategies based on marketplace dynamics (supply, demand and pricing), business needs, opportunities presented by the ever-changing regulatory landscape and previous learnings
- Lead the territory's OKR program: define the key objectives and priorities with the Country Manager and all cross-functional teams, identify roadblocks and collaborate with OKR owners on performance improvements
Deliver actionable business analysis
- Build the analysis and frameworks that support territory decisions, from supply and demand balance to pricing, in collaboration with FP&A and Data Science, deep dive into areas of strength and weakness, and present actionable plans to leadership
- Own the territory's business performance reviews: prepare and present the Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews and the daily and weekly performance updates, proactively flag opportunities and risks, and initiate the deep dives that follow
Lead with operational rigor and discipline
- Run the day-to-day operating cadence of the territory's cross-functional leadership team: set the agenda, align functions on shared priorities, drive follow-through and resolve trade-offs openly
- Run the planning and budgeting processes, including big bet proposals, tracking spend and performance against plan
- Build a strong global network of stakeholders across functions and partner with them to identify opportunities for the territory
Your Expertise
- 8-10 years of relevant work experience with a strong analytical background and a broad business understanding across functions, including marketing and operations, and a solid grasp of marketplace mechanics (how supply, demand and pricing interact)
- Experience in a consumer tech or marketplace business, ideally in a two-sided marketplace such as online travel, mobility, delivery or hospitality, and/or at a top tier consulting/private equity/investment banking firm, in a capacity where you worked cross-functionally and across diverse teams to influence change, ideally leading peers without direct authority in a matrix
- A strong written and verbal communicator, comfortable presenting to senior leadership
- Proven track record as a hands-on business analyst: you build models, business cases and forecasts from scratch in Excel and use AI tools to analyse faster and go deeper; SQL and Python knowledge is a plus
- Near-native English and working knowledge of German
Location
The role is based in Berlin, Germany. Presence in the Berlin office several days a week is critical for close collaboration with the Country Manager and the cross-functional teams.
