Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and ship end-to-end experimental software prototypes—from backend models and infrastructure to client interfaces—moving from whiteboard to live prototype in days, not quarters.
- Own project direction in uncharted problem spaces with minimal supervision, translating open-ended research ideas and product hypotheses into crisp technical requirements and roadmaps.
- Run high-velocity user-facing experiments; objectively evaluate product signal, ruthlessly unblock bottlenecks, and seamlessly pivot technical direction or adopt entirely new tech stacks as projects evolve or wind down.
- Work directly in tight, high-trust pods alongside Research Scientists, Product Managers, and UX Designers to co-design novel user interactions and push the boundaries of frontier AI.
- Balance rapid speed to market with foundational code quality, ensuring prototypes are built reliably enough to gather signal while knowing when to build lightweight vs. enterprise-hardened solutions.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
