Responsibilities
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Design, write, review, and test code in the Android OS environment for the Face Auth (Toscana) feature in Android laptops/tablets (Aluminium).
- Innovate and build premium camera features for Aluminium devices.
- Leverage Google's AI/ML technologies to power innovative use cases or optimize camera image quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Pixel and VM) to pioneer advanced camera features and concepts.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 2 years of experience in Android infrastructure or feature development.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Rust/Kotlin).
- Experience with development with physical devices.
- Experience building camera stack on OS/framework level or working with complex hardware-software integration.
- Familiarity with on-device ML model integration and basic knowledge of ML model application.
- Proven track record of leading technical projects from design through production launch.
