We are looking to appoint three geriatric medicine registrars to work at ST4+ level in General and Geriatric Medicine from December 2026 until 2nd February 2027. These vacancies has arisen as a result of the need for maternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate keen to pursue a career in geriatric and general medicine. The posts are spread over a 28-bedded male elderly care ward (Mortimer), a specialist hip fracture unit (Emmer Green), and our surgical liaison service. There will be a commitment to the medicine on-call rota, including hospital at night shifts. There is an opportunity to review patients in the Rapid Access Clinic for the Older Person (RACOP), reviews of older and frail patients under the care of other specialties within the hospital, as well as contribute to the peri-admission reviews of hip fracture patients. The three teams work under the supervision of consultants, many of whom who rotate every 8 weeks. Typically, there are 2 consultants allocated to a team at any time. Mortimer and Emmer Green also have specialty doctors as well as IMT, GPVTS, and foundation programme trainees, and a Physician's Assistant. The surgical liaison post is supported by 2 Physician's Assistants.

The post holder will also be on call as medical registrar for the unselected medical take as per rota.
