We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Consultant Anaesthetist to join our well-integrated Perioperative and Critical Care team at Freeman Hospital, with a specialist role in liver and pancreas transplantation and major hepatobiliary surgery.
To provide specialist perioperative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anaesthetic management and post-operative care to patients undergoing liver and pancreas transplantation, major hepatobiliary surgery and other complex operative procedures.
The successful applicant will become a member of the consultant anaesthetic team supporting the liver transplant programme and will participate in the consultant liver transplant anaesthetic on-call rota, providing senior anaesthetic expertise for urgent and out-of-hours liver and pancreas transplantation.
The post holder will contribute to the wider work of the Perioperative and Critical Care Directorate. The precise balance of liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery and other anaesthetic activity will be agreed through the consultant job-planning process.
