The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Uroradiology to join our busy and expanding department. The post will be predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with responsibilities extending across both hospital sites.

All consultants have dedicated sessions for acute imaging, as well as protected time for specialist imaging, MDT preparation, MDT administration, and MDT participation. To maintain a broad and balanced skill set, job plans also include core imaging modalities such as ultrasound, acute CT, acute MRI, and plain film.

The department hosts rotating registrars from University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) and offers a wide range of teaching opportunities for radiographers, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and other clinical staff.

Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.

Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury which are located 20 minutes' drive apart. Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care and critical care.

Our Poppy's Promise Commitment

We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team -- clinical or non-clinical -- plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.

We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.

Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.

By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values -- ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
