Applications are invited for a training position in Paediatric Emergency Medicine for 12 months fixed term contract. Post holders will train 6 months in the Paediatric Emergency Department at the Leicester Royal infirmary and 6 months in Children's' Intensive Care Medicine with some general paediatric experience. This post will offer you a clinical supervisor, designated study days as well as opportunities to attend other established training courses. The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK. The Childrens' Emergency Department (ED) is based at Leicester Royal Infirmary where we currently see 60,000 patients a year, which provides an environment to practice challenging but very rewarding Emergency Medicine.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
