As a Bank Locum GP, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with a wide range of healthcare needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective and compassionate care, support service delivery during periods of increased demand, and contribute to positive patient outcomes. This role is ideal for clinicians who are adaptable, confident in autonomous decision-making, and committed to delivering excellent standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients across urgent, primary and community care settings.
- Prescribe, investigate, refer and escalate care as clinically required.
- Deliver face-to-face, telephone and remote consultations.
- Maintain clear and accurate clinical records.
- Provide high-quality patient communication and safety-netting.
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and established clinical pathways.
- Support safe, patient-centred care while meeting governance and safeguarding requirements.
- Contribute to service quality, patient safety and continuous improvement initiatives

Vertis delivers and supports a range of primary care and urgent care services. Current and developing opportunities may include Primary Care Services at or around local Emergency Departments, out-of-hours medical cover for community hospitals, and other services mobilised in response to local system need. Joining the staff bank does not restrict a GP to one service and does not guarantee a minimum number of shifts.
